Rangers fall in nonconference action

Carter County Sports

Unaka was unable to keep pace with a high-powered Raider offense.

The Rangers fell behind early and could never recover as they dropped a 65-16 decision to JI Burton (Va.) on Friday at Goddard Field.

Unaka saw Blake King hit Nick Bowers for a six-yard touchdown in the first half, and then King found Blake Isaacs for an eight-yard score in the second half.

Despite a hard fought effort, the Rangers were unable to recover from a quick 24-0 deficit.

King finished the game 13-of-27 passing for 96 yards. Dakota Gallimore helped convert two two-point conversions in the game.
