A trio of Carter County basketball players earned statewide recognition on Saturday night as Kayla Marosite, Kelci Marosites and Kalee Johnson were named to the Tennessee Sports Writers’ Association’s All-State team for Class AA.
Ka. Marosites and Ke. Marosites were pivotal for the Lady Cyclones in their run to the state tournament, and Ka. Marosites was named the Class AA Miss Basketball. Johnson provided a spark for Happy Valley before falling in the regional semifinals. All three are juniors.
Ka. Marosites averaged just over 20 points per game, while adding just over seven rebounds and four steals per game. Ke. Marosites tallied 15 points per game in addition to averaging just over three assists and three steals per game.
Johnson led the Lady Warriors by averaging 19 points per game. In addition, she also recorded over eight rebounds and just under three steals per game.
