Tuesday Round-up: Lady Cyclones Roll Past Volunteer

Elizabethton 70, Volunteer 39 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones clamped down defensively in the second half to roll to a league win on Tuesday night.

Elizabethton jumped out to a 21-13 advantage after a quarter of play, and pushed the advantage to 39-27 at the break.

The Lady Cyclones left no doubt in the third quarter as they held the Lady Falcons to just three points while scoring 18 points to their tally.

From there, it was smooth sailing for Elizabethton.

Olivia Holly and Lina Lyon had 19 points apiece, while Marlee Mathena had nine points.

South Greene 67, Happy Valley 29 (girls)
The Lady Warriors were unable to shake off a slow start on Tuesday night.

South Greene jumped out to a 13-4 lead after a quarter of play and extended the lead in the second quarter.

HV continued to battle but was unable to trim the deficit.

Mailey Guy led HV with 16 points, while Kadie Bailey had 10 points.

Volunteer 84, Elizabethton 61 (boys)
Elizabethton was unable to keep pace with a consistent Volunteer attack on Tuesday night.

Mason Ball had 13 points, while Mac Paulson had 11 points.
Jackson Hobbs added 10 points to the Cyclone effort.

Blake Head led Volunteer with 24 points.

South Greene 92, Happy Valley 48 (boys)
The Warriors were unable to match a hot-shooting Rebel squad.

HV saw SG take a 24-12 after a quarter of play, and despite a hard-fought effort was unable to trim into the lead in the second quarter.

From there, South Greene was able to control the game and take the win.

Ron Parker led HV with 17 points, while Dakota Grindstaff had 16 points.
