Before we turn the book on Week 5, let’s hand out some game balls for standout performances for each county team.

Cloudland – Conner Birchfield.
Birchfield got an opportunity and took full advantage of it on Friday night in the win over Concord Christian. The freshman led Cloudland in rushing with 68 yards as younger players got valuable playing time.

Elizabethton – Carter Everett
Everett was nice and steady in the win over Unicoi County. The sophomore quarterback went 16-of-23 passing for 221 yards. He also added 53 yards on nine carries on the ground.

Hampton – Offensive Line
The Bulldogs got the job done at the line of scrimmage and it showed. Hampton tallied nine rushing touchdowns to go along with over 500 yards of rushing in the win over Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Happy Valley – Offensive Unit
In a dominating win, it is hard to single out one player for the Warriors. The offense scored early and often in the squad’s second consecutive 60-plus point game. Behind a strong offensive line, Sage Haun, Brayden Sams, Austin Hicks, Dylan Street, Skylar Hyatt and Will Tittle all found the endzone as HV moved to 4-0 on the season.

Unaka – Blake King
King continued to show his abilities against JI Burton. The quarterback threw for two scores in the game to pace the Ranger offense.
