The Lady Jr. ‘Landers weren’t going to be denied.
Cloudland jumped out early and then held on in the closing minutes to take a 39-28 victory over Nolachuckey and capture the TMSAA East Sectional title on Saturday.
The Jr. Lady ‘Landers doubled up the Lady Blaze in the first two quarters building to a 22-11 lead at the half.
After Cloudland maintained the lead throughout the third quarter, Nolachuckey slowly trimmed into the advantage throughout the fourth. However, the Lady Jr. Landers backed by a boisterous crowd held off the charge in the closing minutes to take the win.
Jasmine Birchfield had 10 points to lead Cloudland and was named the tournament MVP. Krisa Bare and Kaylen Fields had eight points apiece. Karah Fields added six points.
Heaven Caraway and Leah Birchfield joined Bare and Kaylen Fields on the All-Tournament team.
