Elizabethton came up short on Wednesday night.
The Cyclones dropped a 14-3 decision to David Crockett at Joe O’Brien Field. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but moved to tonight.
After Crockett scored the first two runs of the night in the top of the first, Elizabethton got a run back in the home side of the third as Kaleb Hambrick scored on a Peyton Johnson single.
The Cyclones tied things up when Jack Farris hit a single to right field that brought Wesley Shankles across home plate.
The Pioneers, however, scored 12 runs over the next two innings to take control and the win.
Brilee Hurley, Shankles, Johnson, and Hambrick had two hits apiece. Johnson tallied two RBI.
Gage Treadway, Zak Workman, and Farris each had a hit.
On the mound, Ethan Meier struck out five batters while allowing just two earned runs on four hits.
