Rangers unable to rally against South Greene

Unaka was unable to overcome a slow start in the District 1-A Quarterfinals.

The Rangers were unable to recover from an early double-digit deficit as they fell 70-50 to South Greene. Unaka finished the season 7-20.

The Rebels jumped out quickly as SG raced out to a 19-5 lead after eight minutes of play.

Gary Wright, Kyler Lewis, and Austin Beauprez hit buckets to help Unaka get the offense going. The Rangers, however, was unable to trim the lead to single digits going into eh half as they trailed 29-16 at the break.

Unaka continued to battle as Lewis made a quick run of his own. However, the Rebels pushed the lead to 20 going into the final eight minutes.

Unaka was unable to pull within 14 points, but they were unable to keep the momentum going.

Lewis had 27 points to lead Unaka. Wright had 11 points, with Beauprez adding eight points.

Nathan Hall led South Greene with 33 points.
